Cathedral Gardens

A series of seventeen conceptual gardens will be developed within the grounds. Through visual and interactive methods, twelve of the gardens will tell the story of our Island and how Christianity has impinged on it through the centuries, and five will have special themes.

This development provides a unique learning experience for people of all ages and cultures. Education packs will be developed for the younger generations, offering Island schools the opportunity to enhance curriculum learning. The Gardens can also be enjoyed by visitors both locally and from overseas, which will contribute greatly to the Island’s Faith Tourism developments. Guided tours will be available for visiting groups and all areas of the Gardens will be wheelchair accessible.

Visitor Facilities

The Gardens will be complemented by the creation of a gift shop and refectory, offering a complete experience for the visitor. Once installed, this project will have a significant impact in sharing an important aspect of Manx heritage and culture, not only in the town of Peel but across the Island and to visitors from overseas.
