The St German’s Cathedral Foundation for Music and the Arts is thrilled to have the following Patrons championing our cause:

 

Professor Karen Vaughan LRAM, FRAM

Karen Vaughan is Professor of Harp at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and has a long association with the Cathedral as she grew up in Peel. For 30 years Karen was Principal Harp of the London Symphony Orchestra and from 1999 to 2008, she was Professor of Pedal Harp at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and she has also taught at The Purcell School for Young Musicians.  We are honoured to have Karen as our musical patron.

 

Clare Christian, BSc, OBE, CP

Clare Christian is a Manx politician, who was President of Tynwald until 2016. She is a former member of the Legislative Council and former Health Minister in the Isle of Man Government. Clare is committed to the supporting the very highest of standards and enjoys regularly attending special services where music is featured.

 

We also invite music supporters to consider becoming a ‘Friend’ of the Cathedral Music. ‘Friends’ receive a termly glossy update of the what’s happening in the music department; preferential advance details of concerts, events and special musical services and an annual Evensong with drinks all for £100 per year, which helps support the development of music in the Cathedral.
